Get started as an Advisor

Use this article as your guide when you are getting started as a new Corpay One Advisor.

Before you can become an Advisor

To become a Corpay One Advisor, you must work for an accounting or auditing firm. If you do, first sign up for Corpay One on our website, and then contact us to have your account changed to an Advisor agreement.

As an Advisor, you can manage all your clients in Corpay One and offer them a wide range of benefits that automate and streamline their bookkeeping 📑

You manage all your clients through a dedicated portal called Advisor Hub.

Access your Advisor Hub

1. Click the 'Advisor Hub' button in the lower left corner of the page:

2. You are now in your Advisor Hub!

Start using your Advisor agreement

Below you can see what each menu in Advisor Hub lets you do.

1. Home

Your new home page consists of several elements:

  • Easily accessible information about your clients, including payment errors, integration errors and pending approvals.

  • Activity, so you can easily follow your clients’ activity in Corpay One and see whether their use of the agreement is decreasing or increasing.

  • A new task module where you can log tasks for yourself or your colleagues and easily assign those tasks to a client.

  • Overall usage across your clients.

  • Personalized view: Create labels under the “Clients” tab and filter by the labels you have created on the home page.

2. Clients

Here you can create new clients and manage existing ones.
We have upgraded your overview of clients and added significantly more information that is easy to access.

  • Read more about how to create new clients in our step-by-step guide here, or go straight to Clients here.

Clients - custom labels

  • New: you can now also create and assign labels to your clients, making it easier to categorize them and filter by those categories.

Clients - onboarding

  • Create your own onboarding steps for new clients and follow them closely in the individual client’s overview and in the client table overview. Note that newly created onboarding steps are only assigned to clients created after the steps are created, not retroactively.

Staff

Here you can invite the coworkers on your staff who need to use Corpay One for your clients.

  • Read more about how to invite staff here, or go straight to Staff here.

2. Access groups

With access groups you can easily give your staff access to clients in Corpay One. Staff who share an access group with a client have access to that client.

  • Read more about access groups here, or go straight to Access groups here.

3. Workflow

In your Advisor Dashboard you can easily create workflows and workflow templates that can be used across your clients.

  • Read more about workflow templates here, or go straight to Workflow here.

Note: Set up your own company’s Corpay One account

In addition to your Advisor Hub, you of course also have a regular Corpay One account for your own company, so you can use Corpay One internally for your own documents. You can access this account by clicking your own company under Clients in the Advisor Dashboard and then clicking Go to client.

To get properly started with Corpay One for your own company, we recommend that you complete the following steps in your own Corpay One account:

1. Verification

Once the account has been created, you must verify yourself and your company. Read more about account verification in Corpay One here.

  • Personal verification can be found under My Profile → Verifications (required, among other things, for coworkers who want to be able to add payment methods).

  • Company verification can be found under Settings → Verifications (required, among other things, to comply with anti-money laundering rules and prevent fraud).

2. Payment methods

Add a payment method under Settings → Payment method (only relevant if the Pay payment component is enabled). Read more about payment methods in Corpay One here.

  • Note that, depending on your bank, this step cannot necessarily be completed the same day. Read more about this here.

3. Team

Invite your coworkers to Corpay One under Settings → Team . Read more about coworkers in Corpay One here.

4. Lists

Create a list of payment methods/offset accounts for receipts under Settings > Lists (not relevant if you are going to connect Corpay One with Billy). Read more about receipts in Corpay One here.

5. Integrations

Set up the integration to your ERP system under Settings > Integrations. You can find guides to Corpay One’s integrations here.

6. Workflows

Create the workflows you want to use to assign approvers automatically, perform actions such as coding, adding notes or selecting currency accounts, and much more (only relevant if the Workflow component is enabled) under Tools > Workflow.

  • We recommend creating a simple fallback workflow, which ensures that documents that do not meet the triggers of your other workflows always go through sufficient approval.

  • Consider whether to create mandatory workflows that must always be completed before a document can be finally approved.

7. Advanced settings

Make sure to decide which advanced settings to turn on under Settings > Advanced. Read more about advanced settings in Corpay One here.

You should now be ready to start using Corpay One!
